Ladies and Gentlemen, I proudly present: The truth about the Argus Apocraphex! Like every 30 Seconds to Mars fan I've been searching the Argus Apocraphex for a long time. I've researched, read websites, watched the famous From Yesterday video like a hunderd times and researched some more. What I have found out is that the Argus Apocraphex has been completely misunderstood. I repeat: The Argus Apocraphex has been MISUNDERSTOOD! But first of all, let us have a closer look at the Argus Apocraphex:
The truth is: "Find the Argus Apocraphex" is nothing but a metaphor for something like "Find the hidden meaning of our songs, symbols, etc." In fact it's pretty much the same thing as "Provehito in Altum" (this one is just easier to understand). Once again: "Find the Argus Apocraphex" means the same thing as "Provehito in Altum". The band themselves mentioned several times, that the Argus Apocraphex is/comes from "an old, old book". Argus. Sounds like Homer. Very old books. But many fans misunderstood the meaning of "Find the Argus Apocraphex". Suddenly it was all about who (or what) the Argus Apocraphex really was. The Argus Apocraphex itself was considered to be a hidden truth, but it's not. It just means: "Find out what lies beyond the obvious." When the From Yesterday video was released there was a big hype because some people thought they had "seen" the Argus Apocraphex in the video. Yes, the video has a deeper meaning. It's about self-knowledge and things like that. The video is based on a book by Joseph Campbel, like the whole "A Beautiful Lie" Album. But the video doesn't have a "special" connection to the Argus Apocraphex. People went crazy when they saw the video and thought they had found the Argus Apocraphex. But when I thought about it, I asked myself: Why? There is no special coherence between the video and the statement "Find the Argus Apocraphex". No evidence! By the way - Jared Leto must have found watching everybody chasing the "Argus Apocraphex" pretty funny: If you you can trust the rumours, Jared himself created this website. Could be Jared. And as if he wanted to give us a hint he wrote "Provehito in Altum" over the page.
